UK Work Permit Transfer...!

Hi ,

I have been working in UK for some time. My WP is valid till Jan 2005.
I finished my assaignment with my current sponsor. Now I got a new contract. I am planning to Tranfer & extend my WP for another 4 years.
I can not approach my current sponsor as I resigned from that company.
I talked to some migration Agents & they told my WPm can be transferred to a Ltd comapny as I have a job in hand.

Please advice me on this. Is it possible to trasfer WP..?
Does the Migration agent given wrong information to me..?
In the current scenario whats the best way forward for me
with out braking any UK Immigration laws.

i think if you are on a WP you cannot transfer it to another company, you (yoour new employer) will have to apply for a new permit for you. apparently its the company that 'owns' the work permit and are actually required by law to notify the HO if you cease to work for them. if it was the HSMP permit it would be different
