Dual Citizenship

Post by Cee Cee » Fri Sep 24, 2004 12:40 pm

Hi

It says on your web site that commonwealth citizens with grandparents born in Ireland before 1922 (the year of partition )can apply for uk ancestry visas above. Is it possible that irish citizens resident in the uk and who has grandparents born in Ireland before 1922 which means that technically they were born under British rule, apply for dual nationality passports instead of full british ones?

I am not sure I quite understand your question. There is no 'dual nationality' passport.

Sorry I didnt mean to be unclear.

All I need to know is " Is it possible to take up dual nationality on the basis that both my grandparents were born in Ireland at the time of British rule. if Iam Irish and if my grandparents were born in Ireland before 1922 an I eligible to obtain dual nationaility?
