Tips for CV in UK format..

Post by ukhsmp » Thu Aug 21, 2008 1:12 pm

Hi all,
I am planning to apply for EC .already I have started posting my resumes in the popular sites like jobserve,cityjobs,etc.... I dont think I got any calls except for one .
my brother is already in UK and I have given his Uk addreass as contact number and his phone number for contact. He informed me that he got only one call(that too was a text message).I have been posting for jobs atleast 3 times a week.but no response.
I have seen some people mention that since we mention our indian contact we will not get calls, but I have changed that to my brother's UK contact number.
I dont know where I am lagging . I have around 4.5 yrs of exp. in Java, j2ee,websphere , MQ, DB2, Sql Server, .
pls let me know your suggestions. Also I would like to know what different is the CV format for UK than india.
Pls advise
ukhsmp

Hi ukhsmp,

Do you already have a CV written in the Indian format? or do you at least know how they are layed out?

If so, you can compare it with these different layouts that are common in the UK: Standard UK CV formats.
