SQL Server Jobs

One of my friend in UK told that SQL Server is hot in UK. Either SQL Server development or DBA. Based on that I did a search in indeed and reed websites and I can see lot of jobs (both contract and permanent) for SQL Server. Is that true? Can seniors/People working in SQL Server technology can shed some clarity on this pls.
