Tier 1 Dependent Restriction

I am holding a Tier 1 dependent visa and my wife is primary applicant. What i was heared from some of my friends are Dependent visa holders are not entertained much in UK as they are dependent on others. But, i am having visa valid till 2013. could anyone plz explain what rules and restrictions and questions my ask for dependent visa holders at the time of interview. we both are IT professionals.

Dear Karpu,

Please dont bother listening to or worrying about what ignorant people say. At the moment, Tier 1 or Tier 2 dependents can do ANY work they want to subject to having the right qualifications, of course!

And since you are on Tier 1, as long as your wife stays in the UK you can as well. Do note that while legally there are no restrictions, no one can control how a company conducts itself. You never know if a company 'prefers' a Tier 1 holder to a Tier 1 dependent but such things are good as Lady Luck - they are not in our control and hence no point bothering.

So dont worry, and all the best in your job hunt
