Urgent Query - Medical TB X-Ray

Post by boardUser » Sun Jul 10, 2011 6:57 pm

Hi all

I have read in this forum that we have to carry the TB X-Ray medical certificate when we arrive in the UK on Tier 1 visa.

I have the certificate which was issued on 13-Dec-10 and the expiry date written on it is 13 Jun 11. I got this issued in December-10 because it was one of the visa requirements.

My question is that now when I will be travelling then do I have to get a new X-RAY certificate from IOM or can the existing one be utilized?

Has any one else gotten into similar situation .. pls comment.

its not mandatory to get TB X-Ray medical certificate when you arrive in the UK on Tier 1 visa.

However they may send you for medicals when you arrive , so pls try to carry a TB X-Ray medical certificate(recent one) when you arrive so that u can save time in medicals.

Even if you don't have the X-ray they will take the X-ray at the airport itself they have the facility for same. So don't bother much about it.

The facts are
1) If person is going to stay long term
2) Person is entering for the first time.

If you take an x-ray (report of chest x-ray. Not just a film) with you, it saves time. A valid x-ray is the one which is not more than 6 months old.

Hi all

Can anyone please tell that if they carry out the x-ray at the airport do they charge heavily for that or is it just a nominal fee?

There is no fee to do it at the airport, but the queues can get long and it could be the last thing you want to do after such a long flight.
