Visa for new born

Hi,
I am an indian on HSMP visa, presently in UK. We plan to have our baby in India. Can anyone give me a rough idea of how much time can it take to get passport and visa issue sorted for the newly born baby, from the time of birth. Would it be necessary for the father of the baby to be present in india for gettting the passport done. More importantly which form do I need to submit for baby's visa and how tedious is the process? Has anyone faced problems? Gone thru this process?
