Travelling to India

Can someone please help with the below mentioned query:-

Child born in the UK. Tier 1 General expires on 6th January 2014.
Registration of birth completed on 21st decmber 2013.
Applied for UK passport on 22nd December 2013.
Can someone please advise if child can travel to India using the Indian passport on 20th January and return on 20th February using the British Passort as Tier 1 will expire by then.

Both parents on ILR currently and hold Indian passport.
