Long Term Visa process

Post by tier-2 » Thu Jan 02, 2014 11:49 am

Hello Friends,

I am going to apply for Long Term Visa for my child.

Is there any way other than going through VFS. I want to avoid them as they charge a fee which I feel is high.

Thanks

Your post makes no sense. Using VFS is mandatory but that agency merely collects the appropriate visa processing fees on behalf of the UKBA (in the event that payment has not already been made on-line). They don't charge anything themselves for this service. There are some additional services available in some locations. If you wish to use some of the optional additional services offered by VFS you may be charged a fee for those services, but that is your choice at your discretion.

Thanks Lucapooka for your reply.

This for Long Term Visa for India. Sorry I did not make that clear in my original post.

When the final payment page comes, VFS are taking £13.00 extra even though I am not taking any optional service. The visa fee is £135.00 and total charge is £148.00.

Do you think there is something wrong I am doing anywhere.

Thanks

Perhaps you have requested the documents be sent to you rather than to collect them yourself?

For a fee you can have your documents couriered to you. You can find out more information about this service on the VFS Global in India website.

Thanks Lucapooka for the reply,

I think you could be right. I will try with In-person submission and collection. But before I take that option, Do you how does in-person submission and collection work. I can see there is an appointment system?

Do you know if the appointment system works well or there is an overcrowd and one has to wait well beyond the appointment times?

Thanks

Hello Friends,

When the visa ( Long Term Visa for India) is submitted in person, does the person collecting the application checks the application for its correctness , say picture, documents attached etc.

Long Term Visa VFS Appointment

Post by tier-2 » Mon Jan 06, 2014 10:24 am

Hello Friends,

Can someone help me with the Long Term Visa process. I want to submit the application in person in order to avoid spending money on Royal Mail, which I understand is nearly £6.00. Its not less for me given I just had a baby and already have to lots of new expenses kicking-in. :)

So Just want to understand how VFS in person collection system works.

(1) Is that appointment that is mentioned on VFS page for in-person collection
(2) How soon can I get the appointment for the in-person collection? Can it be next day.
(3) Is there a wait time at appointment or I can drop in at the appointment time, they take my application and I leave?

I need to be clear on this so that I can plan my time-off in office.

Many Thanks for any information I could get on this.

Regards

Hello Friends,

I really need answer to this question as I see some confusing info on internet.

I had applied for long term visa of my child. On the first page I have stick photograph of my child and there is space for signature.

Who will put the signature there? Does the thumb imprint of the child needs to go there or it can be my signature.

Really appreciate a reply. I have been collating and collecting the documents and forms but am still feeling not quite confident about the application form. particularly as they say that it is non-refundable £148.00.

Thanks
