Getting Married when you dlr

Post by Crazyhorse68 » Sat Jan 04, 2014 6:39 pm

Hi There
I was given Discretionary leave to remain(3 years in 2010)in UK as unmarried partner (British)and daughter (British).
3 weeks ago my solicitor logged in my extension application.
I and my Partner planning to get married in this summer.
My question is :After married do I still have to wait for another 3 years or can I apply for ILR ?we have been living together last 5 years our daughter six.
Best Regards

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage. You'll need to wait another 3 years. Although, as you'll be married to a British citizen you should be able to naturalise as British as soon as you're granted ILR.
