Vietnamese citizen applying for UK fiancee visa in Malaysia

Post by soib » Thu Jan 16, 2014 10:52 pm

Hi,

Apologies if there is a similar question which has already been answered on the forum. My fiancee is in the process of applying for a fiancee visa and we would be extremely grateful if a few final queries could be answered by members of the board.

Firstly, she is a Vietnamese citizen currently living and working in Malaysia and in possession of a work permit. Does anyone know if it is fine for her to use the Visa Application Centre in Kuala Lumpur? Rather than say an equivalent centre in Vietnam. Regardless, the application itself is done online as I understand.

Secondly, and following on from above. On the online application form itself, should she state her country of residence as Vietnam or Malaysia? It specifies permanent country of residence. Although she is from Vietnam, she has no intention of returning to live there. She has been in Malaysia for almost 2 years. That being the case, would it be correct to assume she should enter her current address in Malaysia as her permanent residential address?

Thanks in advance for any advice given.
