Visa Application for Wife from India

Hi Friends,
I'm a UK citizen by birth.
I will be getting married in India later this year and want my wife to travel back with me.
I require assistance on the visa application process. Where do I start?

I fulfill all the pre requisites listed on the UKBA site.

Is it better for me to apply online from the UK and submit all the required documents or my wife submits at the VFS office in mumbai?

On information overload and would be grateful of any assistance.

Your wife has to submit the application. If you intend to travel back to the UK with your wife, bear in mind that spouse visa applications submitted in India take on average 12 weeks to process. The application can't be submitted until after the marriage takes place. If she hasn't already done so, she could take the A1 English test now which is mandatory for a spouse entry visa (unless she has a degree taught in English).

So she can make a start in completing the application ready for submission on receipt of marriage certificate.

No. Your wife has to submit the application in India.

hie can u tell me as my wife staying in india. she is in mumbai n she wil file for visas. so is it necessary that she has to go through medical and police clearance (known as pcc in mumbai)
can u please advice
