Hi,
A friend is need of help. From march - July 2014 he was claiming Job seekers allowance but is now working on £14k per annum. He has savings of over £70k but they were in the form of stocks so he was eligible to apply for job seekers allowance. He has since withdrawn the stocks and has the amount in cash, but is worried. Will the ECO be able to see that he was claiming JSA if he applied through CAT A and D, and will the same be the case if he applies for Cat D alone? How much info can the ECO see. It will be easiest for him to apply through Cat A and D (needing around £30k) as he wont have to shuffle his savings accounts.
Is this something the eco can pick up and question, that why was he on Job seekers allowance when soon after he withdrew his stocks of £70k?
