Bringing mother in law to the UK for visit

Post by azarazim1 » Tue Apr 07, 2015 8:56 pm

I am a British citizen, my wife comes from India and is allowed to stay here under the spouse visa.

My wife is pregnant (first child) and I wanted to call over my mother in law to visit for a month (and to meet her grandchild).

My issue is that we have a 2 bedroom property and it is overcrowded so I know that the visit would be denied as we have nowhere to house her.

I was hoping to invite her to the UK and have another relative (distant relative) sponsor her to stay at their house.

I was told by a solicitor that this is not possible as I want to invite her.

I know one route is to rent my own place (not possible as am on benefits).

What are my options?

Any help would be appreciated.
