Urgent FLR M help

Hello All

I am on ILR and I want to apply for my wifes flr fp application by mid April this year. I am self-employed working as a contractor and I have registered as a sole trader at hmrc.

I started working in july 2015 and my current contract is until march 2016 (it might extend for another 3 months). By then I will have earned well above the 18600 requirement.

My question is:

1) does it really matter if my contract ends in march 2016? I mean isn’t it ok if I managed to show the evidence of total income (zero expenses since I am a contractor) of over 18600 earned from july 2015 to 30 march 2016?

Please help
