Vinny, I have already seen it. It is VERY clear the consulation period is until 10th March 2008 and results will be published within three months. I already know all those details.vinny wrote:See also Current consultations > Visitors consultation paper.
I don't mean to be harsh, bow would any one here know why a news channel in south of India release this info??desperado wrote:What I'm asking is why did the TV News in South India (chennai to be precise) released the news saying Visa will only be issued for three from 1st March 2008 (10 days before the consultation period is over)
olisun, Sorry I didn't make my question clear. It should read something like below.olisun wrote:I don't mean to be harsh, bow would any one here know why a news channel in south of India release this info??desperado wrote:What I'm asking is why did the TV News in South India (chennai to be precise) released the news saying Visa will only be issued for three from 1st March 2008 (10 days before the consultation period is over)
Best to ask the authorities at the channel itself...
They can issue visas for any period they want to, even single entry one day visas if they feel like it.desperado wrote:Can British Consulate start issuing tourist visa's only for three months before the consulation period is over?
That's true, but the "default" period is six months. As far as I know that is still the case, for now at least.mym wrote:They can issue visas for any period they want to, even single entry one day visas if they feel like it.desperado wrote:Can British Consulate start issuing tourist visa's only for three months before the consulation period is over?
They have always had that power.
The TV station is just getting confused/misreporting.
