EEA Family Visa Query

Post by kiwibrd » Wed Apr 23, 2008 2:34 am

Hi,

I have looked through the messages on this forum in regards to the EEA family visa but haven't managed to find exactly what I am looking for. Myself (NZer living in Australia) and my partner (UK Citizen) have been living together for more than two years and can prove our relationship & meet all other necessary visa requirements.

My question is, can I apply for an EEA family visa if my partner is a British citizen living outside the UK and will be travelling to the UK with me?
Or, is it preferable that I apply for an umarried partner visa?

Most of the research I have done implies that I can apply for a family visa just wondering what your opinions are.

Thanks

If you're moving to the UK, you can only apply for an unmarried partner's visa.

If moving to another EU/EEA country, then you apply under the EU immigration route.
