*** HELP VISA4UK Website ***

Post by michelle86 » Fri Nov 23, 2018 9:06 pm

Hi,
Can someone please help, me and my husband are applying for settlement visa on Visa4UK. We have filled out the application, signed the declaration, paid for the IHS, and were about to book an appointment but then found out there weren't any available for the date we needed. So because of this we have decided he will come to the UK for Christmas (as he currently has a visitor visa which is valid until February). However because we have decided this I need to cancel the application so that I can add the dates to the part of the application where it asks if you have visited the UK. I have tried to contact Visa and Immigration and they replied with below but there is no option on the website to 'request refund'

Thank you for contacting UK Visas and Immigration enquiry service.
With regards to your enquiry, a visa fee refund may take up to 28 working days and the IHS fee refund may take up to 6 weeks from the date for requesting the refund online.
Please visit https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/Home/ViewFAQ to see the information on refund policy.
Please be advised not to use any Mac computers, tablets or mobile phones as Visa4uk is only tested with the Windows based platforms. The following is a list of browsers tested to work with the site: Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10.
Requesting a Refund from https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/home/welcome
1. Sign into your Visa4UK account using your email address and password;
2. Select the option ‘View Appointment’ for your application;
3. Select the option ‘Cancel Appointment’;
4. Select ‘Yes’ in the following confirmation dialogue box;
5. Select the option ‘View Payment’ for your application;
6. Scroll down to ‘7. Request Refund’ and select the option ‘Request Refund’;
7. Explain your reason(s) for requesting a refund in the area provided and then select the option ‘Apply for refund’.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, they also replied to me saying that I can just wait for the application to expire which will be February and then I will have to wait a further 6 weeks for the refund.

I know it mentions that the only browsers it works with is 8, 9 or 10 but I am unable to get this to work on any laptop.

Michelle

Can you ask someone else to do it? If not you can legally download a virtual machine with IE10 from Microsoft at https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/m ... tools/vms/ and run it using virtualbox (both free).

It's outrageous the state of that web system. During my wife's visa application, it inisisted on doing the IHS under *MY* passport number and there was nothing I could do to prevent this, so I just rolled with it and it turned out ok. But that email really takes the mickey. IE 10 is not even available in Windows 10, so essentially they're saying that the website will only work on PCs, and PCs above a certain age at that...
