FLR FP - From benefits to employment

Post by lorenaileon19 » Tue Feb 05, 2019 1:42 pm

Hello all!

I've been digging through the forum but haven't been able to find something similar to my situation.

I applied for a FLR FP last September while on a student visa. I'm a US citizen and my husband, who I married in the UK, is British. At the time of the application my husband had to quit his job due to severe depression and he was on Universal Credit for about 5 months until he found employment last January. His new job meets the financial requirements for the 5 and 10 year routes. I have 2 questions:

1) Does my husband being on benefits at the time negatively affect the application?
2) Should I notify the HO about changes of circumstances, even though they require six months of pay slips and bank statements?

I worry that they might ask us to start a new application, and even if we can 'somewhat' afford it, I have student loans to pay and need to be able to legally work as soon as possible. The latest update I've gotten was November 19, where they wrote that out case will take longer because it raises issues relating to the European Human Rights Convention, which I've read it just means it will take months to decide.

Thanks in advance!
