FLR(M) Form SU07 Sponsorship?

Post by helpplease! » Tue Apr 23, 2019 12:11 pm

Hi Guys,

I will be applying to extend my British residence permit as a spouse in May/June, using FLR(M). I have most things ready, but something is confusing me in regards to proof of accommodation/SU07 Sponsorship.

I live with my husband (British) in his parents house, and we pay no rent. We have lived there together ever since I came to the UK. We have no joint letters but letters addressed to us separately, but what else must I provide in order to show proof of this accommodation? Would a simple letter from my partners parents (the owners of the house) confirming this suffice? What documents, if any, would they need to enclose in support of their letter, i.e. the land registry title showing them as owners or anything else?

Finally, would my partners parents need to provide a Sponsorship Undertaking (Form SU07)? Guidance states;

"This form is to confirm that you will be responsible for the applicant’s maintenance, accommodation and care, without relying on public funds:

-for at least 5 years, if they are applying to settle
-throughout their stay in the UK, if they are applying to visit

I have a feeling the SU07 form is not needed, but I am not sure, as accommodation is mentioned..

Thanks!

Submit 6 pieces of correspondence EACH in single names, spread as evenly as possible over the 2 year period from at least 3 different categories. Your parents-in-law can also submit a letter confirming you are living in the family home.

Finally, would my partners parents need to provide a Sponsorship Undertaking (Form SU07)? Guidance states; Not required.
