My husbands spouse visa expires 3rd November, where we will need to apply for his ext. How early can we apply for the flr ext?

Also he will need to sit another English test he did IELTS A1 for the spouse so for the flr visa does he need level A2 this time? And can we book it now or is it to early as his current visa expires beginning of Nov.

No sooner than within 28 days before reaching 30 months residence, counted from date he entered the UK on a spouse visa (not fiance visa) and before visa expiry.

He needs English A2 or he can do B1 which will be required for ILR. You can do the test now.

For the FLR visa if I have a mortgage what documents do I need to provide for the application? Is it a mortgage statement and land registry report? Also do I need to get a survey report as well?

If no other none-related adult is living there then there is no need of survey report. Along with mortgage statement & land registry you can attach council tax.

I am looking for advice. My husbands visa is due in October for flr. I used a solicitor last time. And was wondering if ppl have done it without a solicitor and been successful as I'm not sure if I should use them again as it costs a bit of money.

A solicitor is not necessary and has no influence on your application.

A reasonably sound person having average knowledge in English language and computer/smart phone with no adverse immigration history can prepare his/her own case with the help of this forum.
