Visa Travel Date

Hi all hope someone can give me some guidance.My wife has now payed for and booked her appointment for submitting her documents.We have just realised we started the application on the 18th of may and wanted to travel to uk potentially 27 July this got delayed so now our travel date is mid October which have stated in the application.
We are worrying at the fact that on the home page were all the sections go green once ok it states she wants to travel to uk for the 27th.
Is this just like a guide?as in application it state she wants travel mid October sorry for the essay hope someone can ease our stress.

Also on the application would my copies of my passport have to be in colour as it states in the application.Im worried as I have sent all my copies over to my wife but they are in black and white.It seems like as if it’s one thing after another.
