UK Spouse Visa Finance question

Post by dhruv45in » Tue Feb 04, 2020 9:56 am

Hello,

I am an Indian national, married to a British citizen. She also holds a French PP but as we have to apply through UK PP, so for this, we are considering to apply through Spouse visa route.

We are living in India at the moment. We have 2 young children, 1 of them is a UK/French citizen while the other has only French citizenship.

Since my partner is not working at the moment, we are a bit confused as to how are we going to prove sufficient evidence of maintenance money. As far as I have read, UK and EU children dont have to be included in the maintenance money proof, so it is only going to be me.

I am working in India right now, can I show my current salary as a proof towards the money requirements?
If we were to show a savings of £62,500 to prove we are self sufficient, this has to be in my partner's name or any of our names? The reason I ask is, we have some money in saving bank account in the UK which is on joint names and some money in Indian bank account which is solely on my name. Is it possible to show these two accounts as a possible proof of money towards self sufficiency?

Thanks.

Your job in India may not count but savings held for six month in either your bank account or joint account should do the job. Please make sure that the savings are in UKVI approved bank.
