LLR, civil partnership -do I have to apply for an extension?

Post by JClark » Fri Aug 22, 2008 4:06 pm

HI everyone

In Jan 07 I was granted LLR due to Civil Partnership. We then went to Australia for 11 months as my father's health was failing, we returned in December 07.

It is due to expire on Jan 09 and i was wondering do I need to apply for an extension to make up for the 11 months we were away or does that count towards the two years? I am just a little confused if I need to spend the entire two years in the country or not for it to count?

If I do need to apply for an extension - any idea how I go about this? I have tried to call a few numbers at the home office etc and they are always too busy to take calls..

thanks I really appreciate it

Also when I actually do change over visas ie. the qualifying period is up is it a fairly simple process i.e. just filling in the forms or do we need to provide all the evidence etc and do I have to do the living in the UK test?

thanks everyone..

:P
