Spouse Visa Extension Financial Requirement Question

Post by Pv85 » Tue Jul 14, 2020 8:18 pm

Hello,

My wife's Spouse Visa is about to expire on 1st September 2020. We left the UK in August 2019 with a plan to come back to the UK in March then start working and do the extension just before the expiry date. Unfortunately, due to COVID 19, we were unable to return until mid May. After a long a stressful job search, we both started working in a warehouse from the end of June. I have a permanent contract (16200 gross per year) and my wife has a contract for 2 months (1350 gross per month).

The questions is : Can we fulfil the financial requirement combining these salaries even though we have just started working a few weeks ago? I was under the impression that we have to earn equal to 18600 for 6 months ahead at least. However a friend of a friend suggested that we could combine our salaries, and with a letter from an employer stating that they could extend her contract in case of a Visa approval, the financial requirement could be met. Please let me know if anyone had an experience in similar situation.

Many thanks,
Peter

Unless you have the cash savings you seems of not being able to fulfill the financial requirement. There is a temporary concession where you can use your income (if sufficient) until March (before lockdown/job lose).

You can evaluate yourself the veracity through following links. But do read them thoroughly:
