Question on Savings

Post by Moojs » Sun Apr 25, 2021 1:12 am

Good morning, Hopefully this is in the correct section and someone could assist me

When I will be going through my spouse visa extension with my wife we more than likely will be going through the savings route via savings I have already and a gift that my dad gave me.

If I'm correct after reading alot of posts / online in relating to the gift that we need a letter stating it was a gift from him with a copy of his bank statement showing it leaving and a copy of my bank statement with it going in (this gift will be in my account for about a year ish from my application)

but my question the savings account its in, is a mix of that gift and what was in there already
Gift - £65000
Mine - £25000

My section is a mix of savings from my income and inheritance I got around 5 years ago.

On the application how would i separate this when it asks?

Source of funds : Would I put Income / Inheritance / Gift?

If applicable, detail the name, Would I put my dads info stating part funds (Gift 65k)
address and relationship of any
third party who is the source of
all or part of the funds.

Do i need to prove where my bit came from?

Thankyou for any help :)

Single letter to declare the source of the funds where in you indicate source of each amount listed above. Then provide evidence of the origin to be scanned and uploaded.

Saving Account Question

Post by Moojs » Thu Jul 15, 2021 4:10 am

Morning all,

Just want to confirm something I have my savings for my visa (category d route) in a Coventry building society Easy access savings account which is just there bog standard savings account so no fixed time and has unlimited withdrawals, etc

My question

I note on the requirements that "Savings must be held by the applicant, their partner or by the couple jointly in a personal bank account or savings or investment account, provided that the funds can be accessed immediately (with or without penalty)."

well my account suggests that being a easy access account but if i want to send cash to my normal account they do it the next day e.g. monday morning I say I want £1000 then I will receive that £1000 on tuesday morning

Is that still ok for what they require?

I also have a paragon savings account i think it is and if i want money before 2ish? its same day after 2 it will be next day so is this a common thing with savings accounts?

Cheers
Chris
