married in the UK, evidence/documents of living together - Spouse Route

Post by Griffon12 » Tue Oct 26, 2021 4:49 pm

Hi there,

My partner and I got married in the UK, so I will provide the marriage certificate as the primary document to prove our relationship.

We both live in the UK but in two cities. We do live together most of our time especially during the pandemic. However, it seems impossible for us to prove "we've been living together for 2 years" using bank statement, tenancy agreement, bills etc.

Please could you help me with the following:
1. In application form, for this question "Do you and your partner currently live together?", I put "No" and it is asking for evidence: A letter from relative(s) or friend(s) confirming I or my partner lived with them for some or all of the 2-year period
Should I put "Yes" for this question? If I put "Yes", what documents should I use to support it? Can I use travel tickets, pictures etc rather than bank statement etc?

2. A similar problem to this question "Have you and your partner ever lived together?", should I put "Yes"? We do live together at two addresses, we just could not prove it using bank statement.

Many thanks for your help in advance!

do we need to update marital status on ILR

Post by Griffon12 » Tue Oct 26, 2021 6:43 pm

Hi there,

Before I submit the spouse visa, does my partner need to report the change in marital status (from single to married) on the Indefinite Leave to Remain visa/BRP?

Thanks

There is no requirement to do so. Any thing that requires it will be done as it comes up.

Hi guys,

After a good read through of relevant posts, I think I need to put "No" for both two questions in the application. However we can use the follow up explanation place to give evidence that we did live together but at two addresses using travel tickets etc.

Am I wrong? Please leave any thoughts you have. Many thanks!!
