wrong name on brp card

Post by arshah » Wed Feb 09, 2022 9:58 pm

Hi,

We received BRP Card today for FLR(M) for my wife,
In India there lot of people who don't have family names (surname) they have only given name. When i applied from India lot of people said to me to repeat your given name in surname column ,as that was the way home office deals. and i explained in covering letter. they understood and issued biometric with only given name

but when i was extending her visa i did same and explained in covering letter ,but when i received BRP my wife's name on BRP repeated twice .

1 Her first BRP has given name only
2 Her second BRP has given name twice

i submitted my application with that issue home office says they will contact us in next 20 working days as they are busy dealing with queries .
any one had any knowledge ,similar issues please update me .

Thank you.

I got the same problem as you. For whatever reason My name got duplicated; they put the full name on LastName line and also on Given name lines. This seems like a problem from the caseworker side.

I have just received mine yesterday 14/02 and it took 4 months for the replacement to happen. Filed the same thing as you and have to wait for another 20 working days to get resolved. The remarks also changed from "ILR" to "No Time Limit" (but the name is the most important to me)

I have double checked with all of the documents from appointment booking from both UKVI and VCAS, in them all of my names were put in correctly (had to do this check to make sure the mistake is not mine).
My previous BRPs did not have this problem at all.

Please keep it posted here as I think we are on the same timeline. I will keep you up to date with mine as well
