Hi,
I'm planning on sponsoring my wife for the spouse visa and I have a question about the financial requirement.
I've been with the same employer for 3 years and meet the financial requirement through my salary (salary is about double the requirement).
When I joined to company 3 years ago I got some shares as part of my package and last month the shares were paid out and I received a one time lump sum payment of around 50% of my salary. I received a seperate payslip for this payment alongside my normal payslip.
My gross annual salary alone already covers the financial requirement, without this additional payout, and my company is not a specified limited company as I do not hold anymore shares and everyone received these shares when they joined (300+ people) so I will apply through cat A.
I'm just wondering if I shouldn't add this additional payslip for the payout and not mention it in my cover letter (as not to confuse the ECO and make it more complicated than it has to be) would they be confused when looking at my bank statements and seeing a large payout from my company?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Your current salary is over the threshold required. You don't need to mention further incoming funds.
Equally, it has no negative effect if you do.
Whichever way you flip, it's fine.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Thanks for the answer.
Could I also ask about the address on my paylsips not matching my bank statement. I recently noticed that my bank address was still my old families house and not my current living address, this is due to paperless billing and me not noticing this on my statements till recently. I changed this so the latest bank statements will show my correct address, but the older statement will have an address that is different than the one on my payslip.
As far as I know they only use the bank statements to match the financials and not as residency proof, do you think this is an issue and should I mention it in my cover letter?

Spot on about the financial proof. Address on it has no effect on your application. People move houses regularly.
