Further info requested- how to respond

Post by Pen2022 » Tue Mar 12, 2024 4:17 pm

Hello

I had submitted my spouse's FLR m extension application in Jan.
I received an email from the HO asking me to complete one of the consent forms and to submit the translated marriage certificate. This has been done but they also asked for additional evidence of cohabitation in the same email.
We do not have joint accounts or bills so we instead submitted individual items of correspondence. I did have 6 items but he only had 4- one was from the DVLA with no date but had our address.
I have been honest in the email and told them that we do not have any additional info.

Any advice on how this will be decided?
Also it says respond within 14 days, I have already responded so would they get back to me before or wait for the 14 days to finish.

Thanks

Not sure, but most likely neither - processing may take another few weeks/months.

Do you not have a joint council tax bill?

I have seen other timelines where a result is issued within a few days/weeks after request for further info.

There are timelines like that indeed, but what I'm trying to get across is that request to give information within X days does not give them an obligation to make a decision once X days have passed - they can still take their time.
