Spouse Visa Financials for Self Employed

Post by ELK123210 » Tue Mar 25, 2025 12:11 pm

Hi everyone,
I am planning to get my wife as a dependent on Spouse Visa , I have my ILR granted in Jan 2018.

I got couple of questions on for the financial. I am self employed running my Ltd company as a sole trader. But the guidance for self employed is quite confusing .
At one point the self employed are asked for self assesment for regular financial year aprl6 to april 5.
And immediately it talks about specified Ltd company which talks about the company financial year

I am not sure if , I need to be applying under self employed sole trader category or a specified Ltd company category.
My company is registered in UK and i have been the sole trader (director) since its inception.
Please can someone advice which category is the right one for my wife's visa.

Another question is we got married in November 2023 but due to other circumstances we couldnt apply for the visa earlier. I am trying to apply now in 2025 almost 15 months after our wedding woud this cause any kind of issues.

I greatly appreciate any help regarding this.

Thanks
ELK
