Living together with new partner

Post by hattrick71 » Fri Feb 13, 2026 7:01 am

Hi guys , hope everyone is keeping well.
I will try to keep it short .
I ve been separated from my ex wife for over 7 years now with 2 sons age 16 and 15 respectively. I am British and I met a new partner and we ve been dating for over a year now .
My question is can I put in a living together application with my new partner once it's 2 years of living together despite the fact that me and my ex wife are not divorced yet .
Thanks guys

I'll also keep it short. No. Still polygamy, it doesn't matter how you try to frame it.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

After 2 years in a relationship 'akin to marriage', you will need to submit specified evidence that your previous marriage has permanently ended.

As you mentioned in previous post that you hold British citizenship, what is the immigration status of your partner.?
