Return Ticket

Hello all,

for family visit visa ,shell family member who want to come to uk ,need to submit copy of Return Ticket confirmation ?

Because i am planning to sponsor my mother to come here and visit me .
And i am not sure shell she need to submit the return air ticket confirmation for visit visa OR not ?

I thought we answered this query last week.

The answer is NO.

You do not need to submit any proof of a return ticket when your mom applies for her visa, because there is no guarantee that she will get the visa in the first place.

Only after she gets her visa will you need to book a return ticket, because if and when she lands in the UK and shows a one way ticket, the Immigration officer will get suspicious about your mothers intention and he can refuse her entry into the UK.

Thanks for reply. As i heard from you people there must be reason for her visit. And in the FAMILY VISITOR VAF1B form also they mentioned.
What is the main purpose of your visit to the UK?

And i also need to mention in the sponsor letter as well about the reason for her visit.

But she is just coming to see me cuz she didnt see me for more than a year .

So what you guys suggest me what i need to mention in the sponsor letter ,what will be the best answer for above two question?

If she is coming to see you, then you would put something like" Visiting UK to see my family for a period of 3 months"

You need to write this on the application form as well as the sponsorship letter that you are going to attach with the form.

I must however warn you that its not going to be easy. You have to show you can support her financially and accomadate her without recourse to public funds.

The most difficult bit you have to prove is that she is going to go back.
