letter from my wife

Post by marley2005 » Thu Oct 20, 2005 9:04 pm

dear guys,

in words of honesty i got a lot of help from all the advice you give in this website, so thanks million times.

my question this time is as follows:
I am married to a british citizen and going to apply for marriage visa outside the uk, my wife is going to write a letter supporting my application but i need to have an idea what this letter will contain in general , so i she won't forget anything to mention or talk about, i know my wife gonna use a lot of emotions in her letter as i did for mine but what needs to be avoided or what is advisable to include in such letters.

please advise

Marley, the letters from you and your wife write are an opportunity to get over any point that is not otherwise made clear by the application form and the other evidence. So exactly what those letters need to say will vary, possibly considerably, from person to person.

But no doubt both of you will say obvious things like how you miss each other, but apart from that, get over points not otherwise clear to the ECO dealing with the application.

For example, my own letter in support of my wife's spouse visa application, mentioned that I had been a member of a School Governing body for 9 years, and was also then Chair of the local Community Health Council. Things like that would not have been known to the ECO had they not been included in that letter.

Does that help?
John
