Student visa to Unmarried Partner visa

Post by sanjayrocks » Sat Jul 24, 2010 8:51 pm

Hi,

I will be extending my visa and hoping to apply for the unmarried partner visa. In a genuine relationship with a UK PR holder and i have the following docs with me

1) Tenancy agreements proving we were living together - Since we rented room will that be a problem - Tenancy is for room renting
2) Banks statements for the same address
3) Joint bank statements from 2 banks
4) Electro l reg letter under my name
5) Mobile bill under my name
6) Tons of photos (do we need to attest by an lawyer)
7) If needed witness letters confirming me and my gf were in a genuine relationship

What more documents we need to submit since I don't want any issues occurring about our relationship since its 100% Genuine. Even they can call us for an interview which we can attend without any fear since there is nothing wrong we have committed

Also about the funds - Since im a student i use my parents account money is it ok to show that account as my financial status? This is what i did when extending my student visa as its allowed.

Should apply for it as soon as i got my extended visa or should i wait and apply

Thanks

Doesn't sound like you have 6 docs in joint names to show you've been living together (do they span over a period of two years?).

No you can't use your parents account to show financial stability.

Apply when you fit the criteria.

You don't necessarily need 6 documents in joint names - you may also provide items addressed to each of you individually if they show the same address for both of you. But yes, these 6 documents must cover a period of 2 years.

As suggested, go through the FLR(M) form and read the information given.

Hi,

Im a bit confused. What you mean the documents need to cover 2 years span. Does that mean all documents should be dated for 24 months.
eg: i have a tenancy covering from 2008 Nov upto june 2011( extended for another year from may 2010) Thats the only document we have as a joint doc to cover 2 years. We do have joint accounts but they were opened two months back.( I didnt know that bank statements has to be covering from 2008 Nov up to now.)
But we got separate documents address to same address covering these two years. Do we have to show each document being issued to us for the last 24 months) eg: Salary slips for 24 months singe bank accounts for 24 months etc...

Thank you
