Advice on whether to get spouse visa

Post by mntw » Fri Dec 24, 2010 5:01 pm

I wonder if I could get some answers to the questions below

Background

I was recently granted ILR. I have been married to my wife for little more than 3 years now. She has also been living in the UK for 3 years now (she arrived in December 2007).

I could not put her on my ILR application because she came into the country via the HSMP scheme (now known as Tier 1).

1.Is there any advantage in obtaining a spouse visa (probational ILR) for her?

2. As she has about 2 more years to go before applying for ILR, does the spouse visa have any advantages over HSMP, i.e paying home fees if she intends to go to school?

Thanks in anticipation.

Nope she'll still have to pay international fees until she's got ILR. So I don't think there is any advantage in switching to a spouse.
I tell it like it is.
