Hi
If you can show in evidence that the relationship is genuine, it should be fine. Immigration should be able to understand the nature of the job your partner is going for. Keep all your evidence intact such as bills on both of your names individual as well as joint, bank statements, any other mails, plus while your partner is on the cruise for the 6 months keep all the communication evidence such as emails, phone calls etc. and show them as part of the evidence as well.
I would suggest that you mention details of the job in your statement with the application and also mention how you kept in contact, all this should clear the officer's mind. I am sure they will be able to understand, I am sure immigration officers understand the nature of the job with cruise liners.
In case there are issues and HO objects, you should be able to apply for FLR visa to extend the spouse visa without any problems. Once the 2 years are covered you should be able to get your ILR.
