Hey everyone, I just have a quick question regarding the Unmarried Partner visa. It'd be great if anyone is able to answer or perhaps suggest any other alternative solutions for my situation that I might not know about!
I'm a British citizen that has been in a long distance relationship with a US citizen for over three years now. We've made lots of trips to see each other in that time (totalling around six months all together), but we obviously still fail to meet the "having lived together for at least 2 years" requirement for the Unmarried Partner visa, which we're looking in to as a way of closing the distance between us.
My question is, how concrete is that requirement? Assuming that we meet all other criteria, would it be possible for us to argue our case to try and obtain an Unmarried Partner visa still? Or if not, what might our next best shot be? Bearing in mind that we're both still young (both turning 21 in the next few months), so we seem to be quite limited as far as tiered visas go.
For what it's worth, we have evidence to show that we've been in a relationship for the entire duration: email/phone records, flight tickets, parcel delivery stamps - you name it.
Any and all responses welcome, thanks for your time!
