FLR M application question

Post by hussainfarhad » Fri May 27, 2011 8:43 pm

hi, im getting married to my fiancee in a couple of months time..we got date for 5 july for giving notice and then we will get married. my PSW visa expires in mid november this year. Ive completed all requirements.our case is straightforward really. we both work and earn decent amount of money with a reputable employer. I am looking for accomadation exclusively for us at the moment which shud be sorted b4 my wedding date.both got decent bank statements with savings and money coming in regularly. so the question is can i apply for my FLR M application anytime now uptil november or is it necessary to have a 6 months before my visa expires..a date which is approaching in a few days. so bit confused and tense.. coz on UKba website it says i shud have been issued a visa which was more than 6 months at time of issue..so just looking for clarification..also advice on any other things to look for would be helpful.

The UKBA information can be confusing. What they mean is that for anyone to switch from within the UK to spouse, they need to have been issued with a visa of more than 6 months duration...which essentially excludes anyone with a visitor visa.
You can switch to FLR(M) anytime after your marriage as long as it's before your current visa expires.
Enjoy your wedding day. :)
