Citizenship through mother

Post by fred5612 » Thu Jul 14, 2011 4:12 pm

Hello,

If my mother is granted British citizenship through naturalisation, will I be granted British citizenship aswell? If not what process must I go through?

Sorry for the simple question but I couldn't seem to get a clear answer from the UK border agency website.

P.S:
I am over 18
I am an EEA national

Many thanks in advance

My question was not a yes or no question and it also stated that I couldn't find any clear information on the UKBA website, an explenation is very welcome, thank you.

I did, it brought me to the UKBA website, out of which I already stated that I could not find information pertinent to my case.

As you are over 18, your normal option is to naturalise when you are eligible.

the issue is you can't qualify due to your mother, you need to qualify in your own right, and therefore you need to follow the link to find out about the eligibility requirements.
