What to do if changing From Post study work Visa.

Hi,
I am an American Citizen living in london. I currently have a post-study work visa, and have been working full time since I got it last year in September. I have been living in London for over 6 years, and did all my higher education here. In my final years of studies I met my partner, and now fiancee. We are not married but are thinking of getting married early next year in January. We have a 14 month old daughter, who was born in london and goes to nursery here, but are not living together at the moment. We are planning to move together once we are married. I am not sure what to do next at all in terms of which visa I can apply for once we are married and how the marriage will affect my status. My post-study work visa expires in September 2012. We want to stay in England after the visa expires but i need to be able to work to support them, otherwise we wont survive. My fiancee is of Italian nationality, but also has British citizenship. Can someone please help me know what I can do next to stay here, and be able to work? I have no idea what visa to apply for, and what to do next.

switch to FLR(M) under the expensive Immigration rules; or
consider the EEA-route.
