From Tier 2 dependent to ILR dependent

Post by ajithnair18 » Wed Sep 07, 2011 9:15 pm

Dear All,

Could anyone give me some information on this:

1) I recently got my Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) after staying here for 5 yrs in Tier2.

2) My wife entered this country in March 2011 as dependent to my Tier 2 visa. This visa is valid still Sep 2012.

3) It was told that she can apply for ILR after two years of stay in UK.

The question i have is; since my visa status has changed, do my wife has to apply for a dependent to ILR person (if such thing exist) before her current visa expires ?

Please help. Thanks in advance.

Aji.

Yes, your wife has to switch in to leave to remain using FLR(M) and then, in March 2103, she can apply for ILR.
