Advice needed for spouse visa - working in the EU

Post by Oppenheim » Thu Oct 20, 2011 10:14 pm

Hello folks. I'd be very grateful for some advice.

I am a UK national and married a Japanese citizen last week and we will apply for a spouse visa soon. I start a new job next week and will need to wait for my next 2 bank statements before applying.

The company I work for want me to move to Germany to work. I would like to know if this will cause any complications since I will not be working in the UK at the time of application. Please feel free to ask anything I've missed out here.

Thanks in advance

If you're not going to be in the UK, then a spouse visa may be inappropriate.

It may be better for her to join you in Germany. Subsequently, she may also apply under the EEA regulations (for free) when you are transferred back to the UK.
