Tenancy Agreement

Post by shafikhan » Thu Jan 12, 2012 9:07 am

Hi,

I hope someone will be able to help me with my question. One of my relative has asked me to give him a tenancy agreement so he can use it to sponsor his wife. Our property, a 3 bedroom house is big for my small family (wife, myself and 4 years old son) therefore I don't have any problems with our relative and her wife joining in. He has been working for a company in central london for nearly two years with an income of £35k gross a year. Rent will be payable by them.

CAn you please help as to what documents are required from us?

Thank you.

Hi
as far as i know you need to provide a tenancy agreement between the two of you and a letter from you i.e the landlord stating that a tenencay agreement has been signed by you two. also mention in the letter that he n his wife( put their names) will be staying at your address according to the agreement.
you will also need to explain how many rooms etc you have in the house. i am not sure if you guys need a property inspection report, alot of people tend to submit pictures of the house showing the different rooms.

Hi Shafikhan

I think syma has already answered your questions, let me make it easier to process.

1 - Look for 'shorthold assured tenancy agreement' samples from the internet and adopt one for yourself
2 - Provide a 'No objection' letter to him, stating that as the landlord of the house you do not have any objection for your relative's spouse to live at the property
3 - House inspection report - you should get this done by a surveyor/estate agent, this is a report on the house stating its capacity and all the measurements from a profession point of view. So make sure a professional body makes the report (it could cost roughly between £100 to £250)

Hope this helps.
