Hello,
I would be very grateful for any information right now. I thought this would be a good place to start before we start handing money out to any solicitor. I am seeking advice concerning work visa / immigration matters on behalf of my girlfriend / spouse. I met my partner two years ago here in UK and we have been living together for year now. She was granted leave to enter into UK on a working visa application four years ago. she had the first two initial letter acknowledged from the Home Office which stated the usual we are considering your application and we will try to deal with all application in so and so many weeks...
There were no response from the Home Office for far too long and we began to wonder why, the delay! A number of times she checked with her solicitor he stated he had not received any communication from the Home Office. Nonetheless she remained confident in the solicitor which appeared was recommended by someone in the church. However, my feeling was on the contrary, I started to cast too much doubts on the situation.
We became more pro-active and followed up a small check on the Solicitors firm. We later found out the firm was not a registered firm with the Law society and he was convicted and guilty of conducts unbefitting for a solicitor including other number of offences.
There is much at stake due to the fact that she is now pregnant with my baby. Furthermore, she is not registered with a GP. The documents are with the Home Office including her passport. None of the GP will register her without her passports and they will not accept any of her Home office documents.
I have a settled status with an Indefinite leave to remain, but I am not a British Citizen. I understand there are various Immigration Rules. Because she has applied for a working visa and was not fully determined or it may have been determined but was not passed on to her by her solicitor.
She is considering going back home and re-applying on spousal visa or can she apply from here to avoid the saga of flying home. (and financial damage to my account)?
Thanking you with much gratitude
