Hi Dj5200,

I've applied for my husband and I had trouble too, this template:

http://www.londonelegance.com/transpond ... pousal.pdf

and getting ideas of the Pakistani spouse thread forum really helped me.

If you are still very stuck than I wont mind emailing you my copy, however, our application is still in process :( so I don't know if it has worked or not yet.

Good luck with your application, I hope you and your wife get to be reunited soon. We applied on Feb 13th in Sylhet, I hope we hear something positive soon.

My brother is currently writing his letter and is wondering whether he should state the fact that he knew his wife for many years (she's our cousin) and that it was arranged by our family. After the initial meeting, both them and family agreed to the marriage. But they did not keep contact until AFTER the marriage took place as is the custom..

Confusing..

Dear Jalebi,

You will mention they are related in the application form anyways but you should make this clear that they did not have contacts until this marriage was arranged by 2 families.

I would says he knew his cousin but were not in touch until the family made the arrangement to meet. After the face to face meeting ( must mention date adn place ) Since then them two started contact and eventually got married later on.

Not as straightforward as that. The 'meeting' took place in 2009 and after that there was little contact other than using fone cards to call and I think my sis in law sent a greeting card which is not that much evidence. Then in 2011, my brother went to Pakistan for the marriage and could only manage to take a week off work. So, they spent only a few days together. But since the marriage they can provide evidence of contact.
So it's just a case of whether to say they met in 2009 with a view to getting married or just say they met and married in 2011..?

in that case i would just say they met when they got married and kept in touch since then...straight forward case.. trust me you dont wanna make it complicated even if its the truth...u need to prepare the case with the case workers instructions in mind...just make it as simple as possible...best of luck..!

Yes, it seems to be a better idea to stick with the simple explanation. It's such a shame though because you have to have evidence of EVERYTHING which means in some cases you can't always tell the truth.. :?

Hi dj25000, sorry I havnt replied earlier.

But good news for me, my husband got his visa today, it is such an amazing feeling and I am over the moon!

I have noticed that someone has sent you the template for the letter, but I'll post the document lists on here, so it may help you or anyone else. My husband got his visa in 54 working days.

Here is our list:

2. Medical (TB) report

b. Certified copy of British Passport of Sponsor
c. Original Birth certificate of Sponsor
d. 1 Passport size photograph of Applicant

a. A certificate of Muslim marriage
b. A civil marriage certificate

6. Proof of Financial Support
a. Sponsors payslips (dated August 2011 – January 2012)
b. Sponsors P60 year ending 05 April 2011
c. Bank statements for Sponsor
d. Letter from Sponsors employer
e. Letter from prospective employer for applicant offering a job.

7. Proof of Accommodation

a. Tenancy Agreement
b. Report on the Property by a Building Surveyor
c. Letter from Landlady
d. A copy of the details page of landlady's passport
e. A copy of the Land Registry document showing landlady is owner

8. Evidence of Relationship and Communication

a. Letter in support of the application from sponsor
b. Letter in support of the application from applicant
d. Civil Ceremony photographs x 4
e. Engagement photographs x 3
f. Islamic wedding photographs x 6
g. Wedding Venue receipts x 2
h. Greeting cards that we have sent each other post marriage x 5
i. Photographs of us post wedding – 2011
j. Proof of email correspondence between us
k. Telephone bills for applicant for last 3 months highlighting calls to sponsor
l. Vodafone telephone bills for sponsor for last 3 months highlighting calls to applicant

10. Other documents
a. Letter from sponsor's employee (why I couldn't be with my husband in bangladesh to submit or to go wait with him)
b. Wedding Invitations x 2
c. Wedding Guest Book
d. Character References x 2

So there you have it, we may have submitted more than necessary, but I was very anxious before we submitted an scared we would get refused an would read this forum alot, in hindsight we most likely didnt need all that stuff but I dont know what swayed them to us. By the way, I made a contents page an this is how i laid out the stuff after speaking to a lawyer to see if it was the correct way. I also in the maitenance section, added an extra sheet, I made a table showing income and outgoings to show how we would manage. I think I am just highly anxious for all this stuff. But I hope it helps and above all I realised two most important things in doing this is to have faith and don't lose focus of your relationship, as it is really easy to stress an think negatively.

Good luck to all of you!!!!
