SettlementEnglish Language test Clarity

Post by mno2uk » Mon Oct 14, 2013 3:43 pm

Hi Guys

from this language text

So, for example, a person applying for settlement as a Tier 2
(General) migrant who has already demonstrated a knowledge of English equivalent to B1 level in
order to qualify for entry clearance, will not have to take a further test at settlement stage

copied over from the link - https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... t-koll.pdf

I am trying to understand what it means.. so lets say someone entered initially on a Tier 1 Migrant visa with IELTS done --- would this be called Entry clearance in this case ?

and now
after getting married in the UK applies for settlement based on expiry of 2 yrs probationary period ..

would this person now have to sit again for English exam from October month at level B 1 - speaking and listening ?

OR

would as per the language/example mentioned above - this will not be required ?

Kindly help or people who have been and come out of such situations ..please comment !
