Hi

What category was yours - Self Employed or salaried?

Strange you haven't got any update? Did you try emailing them to find out the status?

Sad to hear that Raju.

In my case am going for a new application, as I felt there are quite a few changes and moreover I don't know how long it will take for the tribunal in India. I am trying to arrange all the docs and will be applying soon.

It's really getting worst with UK immigration, the fees are going high and an NHS Surcharge and after all the application processing times will remain same (nearly 2 months).

That's absloutely true Sid, processing times are remaning the same with increase of fees and extra NHS surcharges.. It's really frustrating with ECO's of BHC Chennai as they do not dig into the application and assess properly. I could see ECO's of other embassies are requesting for missing documents multiple times from applicants. But this BHC Chennai are not doing that which is shame on them..

Even i am also gathering all the latest financial year (April 2015) documents and will submit last 2 financial year's documents this time. Instead of believing in appeal n waiting for it to success it's better to go with new application.

Spouse Visa applied: 23-2-2015
VFS Location: Bangalore
April 8th: received email from Chennai BHC that the application is not straightforward....
April 9th: Received email from Chennai BHC to provide 2 additional Documents
April 15th: Document courier received by embassy
April 20th: BHC confirmed that the documents are received and linked to my application and sent to the ECO for further review
April 29th; Still waiting for an update, called the helpline number and they informed that the application is not updated from April 8th and the status is "delayed due to further enquiries"

Hi All,
I have been keenly following this thread and the immigrationboard in general for my queries. It has been a big help, thanks to one and all :)
Just had my wife's Family of A Settled Person/Spouse Visa come through today

Visa Category: Family of A Settled Person/Settlement (spouse visa)
09/04/2015 - Date of Application at Chandigarh VFS Center (10am appointment)
09/04/2015 - Received at New Delhi High Commission
08/05/2015 - received email need to pay Immigration Health Surcharge of £600 (£200 per year) before 18/05/15, until then decision deferred (Bas****s)
08/05/2015 - Immigration Health Surcharge (Rs 60k) paid online and emailed back the reference number
11/05/2015 - Email received confirming decision has been reached
12/05/2015 - Passport collected from Chandigarh VFS center early morning, visa received for 33 months
06/05/2015 - 'valid from' date on stamped visa

Funny! they said on 8th the decision was deferred although visa was stamped. The whole thing took about 21 working days. Super expensive the whole thing, but glad its done with.

Good luck!

Thanks for sharing this wonderful news, it gives me a lot of hope! I've applied for my husband's spouse visa on 27/04/2015 so I'm really hoping the turn around is as quick as yours.

Congratulations on your successful application.
you must be excited.

What is your status I have applied on ILR dependent visa on the 10th April and still have not received any communication as of yet. Tried to contact UKVI twice and got a standard reply that the application has not yet been assessed by ECO

Hello Bling-uk

Yes quite excited, although dreading at the thought my PS4 might be collecting dust once the missus moves in!!!

I have been on ILR for about 12 months now. Just be patient, I wasn't expecting this quick turnaround. Chandigarh VFS center had advised to expect something after May 19th, average processing time is 26 working days if yours is New Delhi High Commission.

Not sure if you paid the Immigration Health Surcharge with the application. If you didn't, be careful when you click on the link in their email to pay the surcharge. Oh, yeah, keep an eye on the email of applicant. Having filled the spouse details as applicant, you will see a link 'are you going to join someone who is already in the UK?'. Common sense would suggest yes, click, fill your details but no need to fill your details in this link, just leave it blank or else it will add your Immigration Health Surcharge too. I did fill my details initially and it added £1200 for me, on top of the £600 being charged for the spouse - a total of £1800 (Rs 180000). You don't have to pay the surcharge if you have ILR.

I had to call in at a UK number, paying something like £1.37 per minute on my credit card, that went to a call center in India (yes South Park was right, it is a Vindaloop!! UKVI, this is Steve...), to confirm this error on their payment form. Was advised to leave it blank and I did request this be reported and fixed. So only pay total Rs 60k for the spouse if you are on ILR.

Easier said than done, i know, but just be patient. Intezaaarrrrr...

Good luck!

Hi PariJ,

Hope you are well.

Have you received any update from Mumbai BHC about the application? I could see that their average processing times for settlement visas is 6 working days latest by 22ndMay2015

Cheers,

Anyone have any idea why applications from Mumbai are processed much faster than Chennai/New Delhi? Don't they check the Mumbai applications properly?

Thanks PariJ for the update on your timelines.

In your case, it's been already 10 working days from the date of your application at Mumbai. But the processing timelines published at http://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/India/pdf/In ... 290515.pdf shows that settlement visas taken only 4 working days for Mumbai.

I still can't get what's the exact logic behind these processing timelines. Is it like non local application takes more processing time at BHC?

Please do post your status as soon as hear back from Mumbai BHC.

Regards,
Raju

I honestly dont know the methods used to arrive the processing time. My only expectation is ECO to review my application and supporting documents properly and make right decission this time.
