Biometric Residence Permits from outside the UK

Hello

My husband is applying for a Spouse Settlement visa for the UK. We have learnt from April 2015 new rules have come about.

Firstly - the Immigration Healthcare Surcharge.
My husband will pay £600 for this. My Question is do we receive a certificate of some sort that we need to include with the application?

Secondly - Biometric Residence Permits from outside the UK.
Does he need this to apply for Spouse visa, if so how do we go about getting this?

1)There will be IHC numbers. Include that in the covering letter othwerise applicaiton will be invalid.
If you wish, you can also submit the prinit out of payment confirmaiton email.

2)Biometrics will be done at the Visa application centre while you submit the passport and supporting documents

So once my husband pays the Healthcare charge he will get a reference number that needs to be quote in the cover letter. understood.

With regards to the Biometrics. Will he need to pay for this and how much?
