holidays on spouse visa

Post by woolies » Thu Oct 22, 2015 10:45 am

Hi,

I have tried to find answer but unable to find any useful information.

My Mrs is on spouse visa (5 years category) she came here in uk back in july 2014 and it was issued in June last year, now she wishes to visit her family back home. so how many days are allowed for her to spend in one go and in total as well ?

Thanks so much

There is no set limit although absences should be for good reason and limited duration. Holidays are fine.

When she gets to ILR stage, only absences of 6 months or more need to be declared (as the rules stand now). Obviously there are absence limits for citizenship when she gets to that stage.

Thanks for your reply,

I was told time outside UK shouldn't be more than 90 days in one go or in one year ?

is that right ?

Thanks

You're confusing that with absence rules for a British citizenship application.
